Data backup

Your data will be backed up regularly and automatically. However, we recommend that you make your own additional backups on your own data carriers, as we, the provider, do not assume any contractual obligation to back up the data stored by you unless data backup is expressly promised in a selected plan. Please refer to the following text sections for explanations on the backups conducted on our side.

• General remarks

  Access to data backups is provided only upon request; these backups cannot be accessed externally. The automatic backups and their provision to the account holder are voluntary services provided by us. It is important to note that there is no legal entitlement to the availability of a data backup.

• FTP Backup

  We create backups of your FTP data approximately every 14 days. Typically, two backups are stored: one that is a maximum of 2 weeks old and another that is a maximum of 4 weeks old.

  Please be aware that only website-related data is included in these backups. Large files such as those with extensions .nrg, .iso, .ccd, .c2d, and .cue are excluded from the backup process.

• MySQL dump

  Websites that feature dynamic content, such as those utilising databases, are subject to frequent changes and are therefore backed up promptly. The backup schedule for such content is as follows: one backup from the previous day, one backup approximately 5-8 days old, and one backup approximately 9-12 days old. This ensures that recent changes are regularly captured and preserved.

• Additional backup options:

  Depending on the plan you select, additional backup procedures can be implemented to enhance the reliability of automatic backups, thereby helping to prevent data loss.

  For server customers, there is an option to order an additional hard drive dedicated solely to storing backups on the respective server. This added resource ensures that data is securely backed up, minimising the risk of losing important information.
