Step 1:

Log in to your KAS (Technical Administration) and click the menu item Domain on the left and then click the Edit icon right next to the respective Domain.

Step 2:

Right next to SSL protection, click the edit icon.

In case you already own an SSL certificate and still need to install it, you can directly go on with Step 5 of this tutorial. If you still need to acquire the external SSL certificate, go on with Step 3.

Step 3:

In order to acquire an external certificate, you need the CSR in the first place. On that point, please enter your data (such as country, city, organization etc.) in the CSR Generator tab. This data will be later shown in the certificate's owner details.

The data must be equal to the domain's owner data which is stored in the Whois database at the respective registry (e.g. www.denic.de for .de domains) and if the domain is registered with ALL-INKL.COM the data is identical with the data of the contract owner inside the Members Area.

Afterwards, click the Generate a self-signed certificate and install it button.

Step 4:

Now you need to copy the CSR and transmit it to the certificate authority. In case you will be prompted to state the webserver type, please select "Apache / mod_ssl".

Please do not pass the key (Private Key) to third parties, since this will threaten the certificate's security. The key is connected to the CSR and the CRT. In case the key gets lost, you need to issue a new certificate. Therefore, please also store the certificate data (CSR, Key, CRT) locally.

Step 5:

You will then get the final certificate (CRT) and possible indermediate certificates from the certificate authority.

Copy and paste the contents of the files into the respective fields inside your KAS (Technical Administration) panel and overwrite the data the fields already contain. Please insert the certificate from first to last, including -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE-----. If the intermediate certificates are split into multiple files, then you need to insert the data one below the other into the respective field. Then hit the Save settings button.

The certificate is now installed. You can reach the domain via HTTPS within 10 minutes.
