Configuration Files: How to check the database credentials
Step 1:
Most CMS, blogs, clouds and shop systems use a database in order to store content. In case you have changed the login credentials or the privileges of a database in your KAS (Technical Administration) panel, it also needs to be changed for the respective software. Please always use localhost as database hostname, except you want to get access to an external database.
Log in to your WebFTP using your FTP login credentials.
Please note that the configuration files could be write-protected. In order to edit them anyway, you need to set the privileges (chmod) to 644. You can find a tutorial here:
WebFTP: How to change file privileges (CHMOD)
Step 2:
Now please select your respective software from this tutorial. The path to the configuration file will be shown as well as which values are important for the database connection.CMS (Content Management Systems)
